Driving Classics Limited (DCL) specialises in the selection, purchase and sale of rare classics and sports cars, where we provide intermediary or broker services. With over five decades of experience in the motor industry, our Directors are able to combine considerable expertise with a wide network of industry contacts, collectors and enthusiasts to source and/or sell high quality vehicles of interest. Utilising targeted marketing, detailed historical research and vehicle description together with great photographs, we have proven sales' results.
Our Sales Director, Julien Sumner, has a successful track record in the buying and selling of classic cars which can be traced back to the 1980's whilst at Jack Barclay in Mayfair, purveyors of Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars. Following several senior management positions in the sector, he established his own business which ran successfully for over 15 years. Julien has been a shareholder of DCL since trading began in 2017. Consequently, we can offer clients the benefits of his four decades of considerable experience in the sale and purchase of many excellent classic vehicles, from post-war to more recent times.
Our Operations Director, Mitch Dowlen, plays a significant and important role within the company albeit behind the scenes. His City and importantly his extensive corporate governance experience for large businesses is pivotal across everything we do. Mitch has also been a shareholder of DCL since inception. In addition he is also a highly-regarded Antiquarian Horologist who has looked after many fine clocks in private collections across Surrey and West Sussex.
Our services include:
Procurement of vehicles on behalf of customers
Identify the best routes to market and proposed price-point for the sale of customers’ vehicles
Accepting consignment of customer vehicles under formal “Sale or Return” arrangements and drafting Sale Agreements
Secure on-site storage of customer vehicles during the sales process (subject to availability)
Advertising and marketing on DCL’s website and other media outlets as agreed with the customer
Arranging vehicle servicing, MOT and pre-sale preparation as required (subject to customer consent)
Liaising with potential purchasers and where applicable organise on-site vehicle viewings and demonstrations
Negotiating with parties to reach an agreed price-point and assist with subsequent transfer of ownership
Arranging collection and/or delivery of vehicles post-sale upon request
In addition, on a case-by-case basis, DCL may be able to offer convenience, speed and certainty to vendors of classic cars by purchasing their vehicles at a price that recognises specific personal circumstances.
