Once we have accepted consignment of a customer's car under formal Sale or Return arrangements, we provide secure on-site storage of the vehicle. We photograph and document the car’s history and can advise on restoration and specialist cleaning in order to present your car in the most appropriate condition.
No. Although we would expect customers to allow us sufficient time to find a suitable buyer given the specialist nature of the market in which we operate.
DCL does not regularly purchase cars from clients. However, we are happy to discuss options depending upon the personal circumstances behind the proposed sale and whether a fair outcome can be achieved for both parties.
We have a wide network of individual buyers. Some are “marque specific” and it may be possible to achieve a sale without advertising. More generally, we can usually achieve enquiries within a few months although not all enquiries initially result in a sale. We always keep customers appraised of progress.
We expect customers engaging us to sell their cars to present them in good mechanical working order and general overall condition. Whilst in our care, vehicles will be kept in good order from a presentational perspective and we will undertake certain regular checks, such as fluid levels, tyre pressures and battery charge status.
Yes. However, it is a condition of the Sale or Return Agreement that if the Vehicle is to be located and made available for inspection at DCL’s premises during the sale process, it will continue to be comprehensively insured by the Owner/Seller.
We calculate our remuneration either as a percentage of the sale price or on a “fixed fee” basis. We agree the approach with our clients prior to completing the Sale or Return Agreement.
