The BMW 2002 tii were engineered superbly well and thus today, give a remarkably modern and reliable drive...this is something I can attest, having driven this nippy little BMW countless miles in the last week; the other notable thing here is the comfortable ride, which is extremely compliant....there's no substitute for period high walled tyres. There's certainly more than enough grunt and refinement to make it an ideal companion on pretty much any journey.

Description

Rarely found in this wonderful un-restored condition, this beautiful pastel blue matching-numbers car is the uber-rare Lux model. Originally supplied by BMW Merrow in Guildford in 1976, its ownership has been meagre with only 5 previous keepers, including a father son stint of 31 years, during which time it was SORN for 7 years.

The last owner has sympathetically upgraded the car with some interesting and worthy improvements. These include, a correctly engineered E21 5 speed gearbox conversion by marque specialist JFI Classics, Jaymic sports springs and stainless steel exhaust. Pleasingly the original factory 4 speed gearbox and springs are available.

The body work is unrestored and even with a few minor blemishes and small areas requiring some future attention, it presents exceptionally well, with superb panel gaps, seals and lovely brightwork...even the tinted glass has original 70's-style etched security markings, which extend to the headlights aswell.

The history and provenance together with unmarked interior, convince us that the low mileage is correct. Just to cap it off, this 'tii' has it's original dealer fit Radiomobile 8 track radio in perfect working order. Its just flown through a new MOT with no advisories...this little gem is completely on the button.
