This is certainly the rarest of opportunities to own what must be one of the most original, low mileage and perfectly preserved BMW Motorcycles available today.
Evidently a collectors piece, it has been for many years part of a small but discerning private collection of motorcycles and fine motor cars that includes early BMWs, Bristols and a host of important Land Rover products.
And so the superlatives: This RS is unmarked, the chrome work and paintwork are flawless, panniers/luggage are as new, whilst both the tool roll and first aid kit are all present and unused. The motor bike's odometer shows just 90 miles. It's a truly remarkable example and testament to storing things properly; this has happily been in a bespoke dehumidified garage complex.
As one would expect, the history file contains not only the original hand books, MOTs and maintenance invoices but a host of additional provenance items - these include further original BMW brochures, 4 of them actually which chart the model in sequence, and original photographs from the last supplying dealer. There is a note of the new price back in 1978, an eye watering, £2,999!
Along with its stable mate, a 1979 BMW R100 RT, similarly original and unrestored, this BMW motorbike is available to be inspected at my Guildford showroom - It would be a pleasure to answer any further questions you might have, please call me directly on +44 (0) 7788 865700.
