A rare and valuable Porsche in its own right, this superb RSR Recreation is based upon an original 1975 2.7 litre Carrera and was conceived as the ultimate road and track toy for a wealthy German industrialist. Chassis # 9115600231 was built to full 3.0 RSR Competition specification by H.S. Racing (Heini Schneebeli), the highly reputable Swiss Porsche tuner in the earlier part of this millennium.

Description

Specification is vast and evidently too comprehensive to list in its entirety here, but some of the roster of interior competition equipment includes, a Matter welded roll cage, race seats and harnesses and plumbed in fire extinguisher system.

Power here is from MFI twin spark engine giving in excess of 300 bhp, sufficient to deem it too much of a handful for our German Industrialist and the car soon after completion was put up for sale.

Subsequently sold to "Mr 911" himself, Nick Faure, who exploited its true potential and actively campaigned it with enormous success, picking up most notably an overall win in the Tour de Espania and the 911 race at the Circuit des Remparts in Angouleme. Both 2008 & 2010 saw another 2 wins on the Tour of Britain and an entry in the Spa 6 hours. With literally only a handful of outings and test days in 2012, including another entry of the Tour of Britain, the Porsche was sent for a full mechanical overhaul with marque specialist Mike Bainbridge.

Reunited with Nick Faure only a few weeks ago at a Goodwood test day, I am reliably informed by the current owner and co-pilot, that Nick's masterful control and famous over steer was very much in evidence!!

Having only just been released from an extensive private Porsche collection, it offers an immediate chance to compete at the highest level of historic rallies and races and at this price must be amongst the best valued road legal Porsche available.
