Intended as a more spacious and comfortable offering to the already established Griffith, the Chimaera came with more touring boot space, slightly less aggressive looks and a somewhat softer, more compliant ride compared to its more brutish sibling.

The majority of Chimaeras were specified with either 4.0 or 4.5 litre engines, thus it was customer demand that lead Peter Wheeler to see the virtue of installing the 5Ltr (340bhp) V8 power plant seen in the Griffith; the extra 100 bhp gives a huge dollop extra performance and immerse torque.

With a ratio of just one in seven Chimaeras being specified with the 5.0 Litre engine, the frequency of well cared for 5.0 litre cars offered to the market nowadays is minimal.

Our car here ticks all the boxes; the Imperial Blue pearlescent paint is certainly one of the most popular TVR hues and certainly so when it's twinned with magnolia leather and secondly prussian blue inserts. Its 25,000 miles makes it one of the lowest mileage cars available and as you would expect, there is a full-service history on file with the correct attention being paid by known TVR service specialists. A further major bonus here being it's a non power steering car non a/c car.

I had the pleasure of dealing with owner of this car some 20 years ago, when he purchased his first TVR, a Cerbera 4.5 from me whilst I was Fernhurst and happily we have kept in touch, so a real pleasure for us to offer this superb example today!
